Black and White Wednesday #150 - The warmth of handwritten recipes

I have always liked reading recipes. That was my only link to food. I was never keen on cooking. Give me a book with recipes and pictures of food, that I like.

I have been collecting recipes from everywhere since I got married. Most of them were printed out, due to lack of time. But my personal favorites remain recipes collected from mom, aunts and friends, noted down hastily in my diary that only I can decipher.

The handwritten recipes when dusted out, bring back some wonderful memories. A turmeric stain here, a water-smudged note there, few short-forms that even I cannot understand. One look and I can actually remember the day I noted it down. The conversations, the place, the people and the juicy gossip which was shared along with the recipe. Sure, my handwriting has changed over the years and that reminds me how much time has passed. Now-a-days, I hardly write down anything. My computer has taken over.

As I write this, a thought crosses my mind. My kids will never know the warmth of handwritten recipes.
Time I grabbed that pen.

The above pic is my entry for this week's BWW # 150.

Black and White Wednesday has reached 150 weeks and this week it is hosted by Cinzia.
