For you, from me.
This blog was once an outlet for the out of sorts new mother in me. As the children grew, I started to get busy with life. Though the interest in food never wavered, the work involved in running a blog was exhausting. Even the occasional enthusiasm dissipated as swiftly as it had reared its head. Years turned into months and life happened, as it always does. I never got around to keeping up with the blog.
For a few months now, the blog has been on my mind more so than ever. Ammamma is the primary reason. When Ammamma passed away this summer, the reality hit harder and closer. I had resolved to write more frequently about her, the house in Mahe and my family, as I assumed it will make the healing easier. Months later, I am not sure about the healing, but I realized I should atleast make an effort.
Something I wrote last summer in Mahe the night we said our goodbyes - " The intoxicating smell of Jasmine was exceedingly bitter that night - coupled with the realization that this house will no longer be the same. Everything that I know and love about Kerala, revolves around this house. So when Ammamma passed away, she took my childhood with her. "
