Basa Fish with Garlic and Lemon

"In the hands of an able cook, fish can become an inexhaustible source of perpetual delight."
Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755-1826)

Here is a recipe for people who do not have time for all the cooking that a sauce demands. My kids love this dish and I love it too as it can be cooked in under 15 minutes.

If are really short of time, you can skip the marination part and just bake the fish directly.

Ingredients

Basa Fillets - 2 - (500 grams in total) - Cleaned.
Garlic paste- 1 teaspoon - 4 or 5 large pods of Garlic
Lemon Juice - Juice of 1 big lemon
Butter - 3/4 tablespoon melted butter
Dried Parsley - 1 teaspoon
Salt and Pepper to taste.

Method :

1. Place the fillets in a baking dish.
2. Combine the garlic and lemon juice with the melted butter.
3. Pour the butter mix over the fillets, then sprinkle with parsley, salt and pepper to taste.
4. Marinate the fish for 30 minutes.
5. Meanwhile, Preheat oven to 220 deg C using the oven + grill option for 4 minutes.
6. Bake the basa in the oven using the oven + grill option for 8 minutes, turning over once after 4 minutes or  until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

Notes :

1. If you are short of time or just cannot wait, you can just rub the garlic mix over the fillet and cook in the oven soon after. I am a marinating freak, so I prefer and highly recommend marinating.

2. Also, experiment with the herbs.
