Flaxseeds Chutney Powder

Flax seeds are the new miracle drug for joint pains and a whole lot of ailments. Though research is still on debating the health benefits, the demand for Flax seeds is growing.

Flax seeds can be readily eaten or can be added to curries in powder form. The below recipe is a chutney powder made from Flax seeds and can be eaten with rice. 



 

Ingredients : 

 

Flax Seeds - 200 gms
Dry red chilli - 3-4 ( Adjust as per your spice levels)
Cumin Seeds - 4 tsp
Salt to taste

Method :

 

1. Roast Flax seeds lightly in a pan. Stop when the seeds start crackling.
2. Roast chillies and cumin seeds separately.
3. Let them cool and grind them to a coarse powder.
4. Add salt and mix well.
5. Store in an air tight container.
6. Serve with rice / Idli / Dosa. 



Note :

1. Like all spice powders, prepare in small batches. The health benefits and aroma both are lost over time.
